As Black Saint and Soul Note continue their boxed set "Complete Recordings Of" series in 2011, this volume by Lester Bowie is one of the most diverse. Containing three discs cut over a decade, it reflects the numerous dimensions in Bowie's musical persona, from fiery improviser to post-modern formalist and engaged ensemble member, and above all, his love for the entire jazz, blues, and gospel music traditions. The first disc in the collection is 1978's 5th Power. It's the only title here that showcases Bowie actually leading an ensemble under his own name. His session personnel for the date were saxophonist Arthur Blythe, pianist Amina Claudine Myers (who also sings on the rousing gospel-jazz of "God Has Smiled on Me"), bassist Malachi Favors, and drummer Philip Wilson.

New version of the Paco de Lucía Integral, 27 CDs his complete work remastered. "Cositas Buenas", his last album, comes as a new in this new Integral. Now in a new economic format. This collection is a unique tour of the work of Paco de Lucia from 1964 to 2004. On a large estate close to the city of his birth, Algecirans celebrate a particular saint’s day, which gives the title to this solo album by Paco de Lucía. Perhaps this is one of the albums that has had most impact on the young generations of Flamenco performers and creators of the last decades. For many this was the culmination of a process that coincided with the arrival of democracy to Spain.

Brad Armstrong's second solo album, "I Got No Place Remembers Me" is beautiful, haunting, harshly poetic and really just a hell of a thing to behold. This is not gritty soul. It is soulful grit that fuels this 13 song journey that's well worth taking.
"I Got No Place Remembers Me" as well as "Empire" (Brad's first solo record) were both masterfully reccorded, produced and mixed by Brad himself, and features backing vocals and harmonies by Maria Taylor of Azure Ray.

En Vivo Conciertos España is the first release of new material in seven years, and first live album in 18, by the flamenco guitar god par excellence. While de Lucía's output has slowed down considerably in the past two decades, the same cannot be said of his prodigious dexterity, in light of this two-CD set culled from his 2010 Spanish tour. De Lucía performs extended variations of eight of his compositions (almost every track surpasses the ten-minute mark) together with his new band of guitarist Antonio Sánchez, bassist Alain Pérez, singers David de Jacoba and Duquende, harmonica player Antonio Serrano, and dancer Farru, all eminently up to de Lucía's notoriously high standards. A DVD with the "making-of" documentary La Inmortalidad del Concierto completes the release.
