H.Takahashi, Tokyo based Architect and sound designer. ‘Low Power’ draws strands of Minimalism from the Japanese Minimalist works from the likes of Hiroshi Yoshimura and Satoshi Ashikawa, to masters such as Erik Satie and John Cage, and Ambient leaders Brian Eno and Roedelius. His sound sometimes seems to be drizzling like rain, but still the feeling of refreshing sounds sinks pleasantly inside the body like a shower bathed after running 100 meters with full power. A genuine melody gives a feeling that drifts in the water. The philosophy of simple timbre composition and placement makes feel the composition of the Japanese garden and the minimalism of Sen no Rikyu.

Power Windows is the eleventh studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on October 14, 1985 by Anthem Records. After touring in support of their previous album, Grace Under Pressure (1984), the band took a break and reconvened in early 1985 to work on a follow-up. The material continued to display the band's exploration of synthesizer-oriented music, this time with the addition of sampling, electronic drums, a string section, and choir, with power being a running lyrical theme. Power Windows was recorded in Montserrat and England with Peter Collins as co-producer and Andy Richards on additional keyboards. The album reached No. 2 in Canada, No. 9 in the United Kingdom, and No. 10 in the United States. In January 1986, the album reached platinum certification for one million copies sold in the United States.

Sweden's Cryonic Temple is back with their third album, In Thy Power. Yes, the band is still playing true metal, containing many of the cliché lyrics (dragons, swords, battles, etc…) one would expect from a band in this genre. Cryonic Temple plays this style at least as well as older acts such as Gamma Ray and Iron Savior, yet they seem to tend more towards the Iron Maiden model than most.

King Crimson - The Power to Believe (2003) - (Links Updated)  Music

King Crimson - 2003 The Power to Believe
Genre: Progressive Rock | MP3 | CBR 256 | 93.95 Mb

The latest and, if recent musings from Robert Fripp are to be believed, possibly last King Crimson album sees the band heading off into a slightly heavier direction than in recent years. And a welcome move it is too. Predominently an instrumental album, only Eyes Wide Open, Facts Of Life and Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With have vocals, the style, complexity and sheer power of the music is reminiscent of the Starless and Bible Black / Red period of the band's history and is every bit as good.

Vol. 3 of Lawrence Power's survey of the complete Hindemith work for viola features a cluster of works written for viola and orchestra in the short time between 1927 and 1930. Though Hindemith did not write a traditional concerto in the classical sense, the Op. 48 Konzertmusik, Kammermusik No. 5, and Der Schwanendreher each put the viola's abilities at the forefront of the orchestra. His personal knowledge of the instrument's technical, lyrical, and emotive abilities become quickly apparent as the viola is made to scurry around as nimbly as a violin in Konzertmusik, as emotionally rich as a cello in Trauermusik, or as colorful and evocative as a piano in Der Schwanendreher. All of these many moods are captured effortlessly by Power. His playing balances the clarity needed to execute agile passagework with the richness and depth needed for more lyrical sections. What's more, Power never gives the appearance of trying to make the viola sound like a violin; instead, he celebrates the viola's idiosyncrasies and transforms them into a rich, satisfying tapestry of sound. Joined by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under David Atherton, Vol. 3 of Power's hefty undertaking is just as worthwhile and engaging as the previous two and is certainly worth checking out.

Born in Philadelphia in 1961, Gene Jackson had already determined by his late teens to become a professional drummer. He attended Berklee College of Music where his classmates numbered Branford Marsalis, Cindy Blackman, Terri Lyne Carrington and Jeff "Tain" Watts to name just a few. He's worked with many major players in jazz including Dave Holland, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Kevin Eubanks. For his debut album as leader, Jackson has shrewdly selected two truly inspired musicians.
